Question Gloves????
I currently wear a pair of mechanics gloves while I ride (stupid I know) obviously they offer no protection and are there more for grip and comfort than anything. I'm looking for some protection but don't have $80 to blow away on a pair of gloves! Any good recommends??? thanks.

Best Answer Don't skimp on safety stuff. Think about falling, what happens, you put your hands out in front. Skin graphs suck. make sure to have gloves that fit right, and have a wrist strap to hold them on your hands. I track ride with Helds... expensive I know, but I like using my hands.

Question What kind of gloves should I wear for heavybag and focus mitt training?
I do a mixed style of martial arts that incorporates kickboxing, karate, and jujitsu. I am looking to buy a few new pairs of gloves but am unsure which ones I should get. So these are my concerns: Heavy bag training: Using 16oz gloves on the bag causes me to be sloppy and not punch properly. Should I use fingerless gloves, speed bag gloves, heavy bag gloves, just hand wraps, or should I use my 16oz sparring gloves? Are bag gloves really necessary? Focus mitt training: Sparring gloves are too big and cumbersome; they don't allow me to move fast. Should I use just handwraps, fingerless gloves, bag gloves, or is it best to train with sparring gloves? Basically, will someone tell me what glove to use for: heavy bag training, focus mitt training. Your choices are: sparring gloves, heavy bag gloves, light bag gloves, hand wraps, open-finger gloves. Best Answer As a former golden gloves boxer who has dabbled in MMA, I think that if you're getting sloppy with 16oz gloves on the heavy bag then you should continue to use them until you're not sloppy anymore. I trained 10 five minute rounds on heavy bags with 16oz gloves when I was preparing for a fight, and by the 8th round I could barely hold my hands up. That's when the training really starts to make an impact. It's easy to throw clean punches when you're fresh, a lot harder when you're dog tired. The heavier gloves might be doing you a favor. But if you're looking for a combination of speed and protection, I think getting some 10oz competition grade gloves might be a good idea. They're much quicker, offer the protection you need, and won't be a huge shock when you drop them for the grappling gloves.

Question My gloves are a little wet if I put them in the microwave will it start a fire?
my gloves got a little wet with water when I was adding it to my bowl for my oatmeal (your probably thinking why do I have on gloves inside..well because I work in an open area like a parking gargae kinda and it gets cold in here.) anyway I want to put the gloves in the microwave so they can dry..will it start a fire?

Best Answer I would assume the gloves contain some kind of elastic. That would definitely melt in the microwave so I'd suggest putting them on a radiator indoors rather than the microwave. Have you got a hot air hand dryer in the Ladies Washroom? That's how I dry things sometimes when I get splashed or spill a drink :-)

Question I need long gloves to take food out of a large cooker. Can I use blacksmith, glass firing, or what?
Need gloves to take out baked potatoes from a large cooker. I have to reach into an opening, so need to be long because I've been burning my forearms. Maybe pottery or glass firing gloves? Or is there something I can cover my forearms with? Maybe blacksmiths wear? They also have to be flexable enough to grasp the potatoes. Anyone use gloves that would be good for this?

Best Answer I use to have a problem with an allergy to dish washing soap. I used Playtex latex gloves. They have a nice soft lining. But I also found that the insides would get damp. So I would use baby powder to dry out the insides. And when I used them I would shake out the powder. Then slather on hand lotion. My hands and nails were wonderful during that period that I used gloves to wash dishes.

Question What size gloves should I get for heavy bag work?
This is for traditional boxing. I am currently 219lbs and stand 5`11, I am working to get down to the cruiser-weight division (possibly light heavy-weight if my body will let me) and want to know the proper size gloves I should get for heavy bag work. Should I get 12oz, 14oz, 16oz gloves? Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. Also, what are the offical weights for a light heavy-weight and a cruiser-weight? I have heard multiple answers for this.

Best Answer first of all you should get down between 165 and 178. second of all for bag work it is what you feel best with. i think u should use 12 oz because have to get used to the shock of landing a punch, but for spparing dont use anything lighter than 16.

Question What goalie gloves are best for indoor soccer?
Just started in a community league and I'm concerned that with the indoor soccer ball being suede, gloves (while protecting my hands) would give me worse grip of the ball. Is this not the case or are there keeper gloves particularly designed for indoor soccer? By the way, I'm looking for real answers from people who don't have a bunch of testosterone to throw around. Best Answer I think the best thing to do would be to go to a store, try on some gloves and handle some indoor balls to see which work best for you. I shouldn't really matter if the are outdoor or indoor gloves.

Question What work gloves would prevent blisters and eliminate vibration shock?
My boyfriend uses many tools on his job and he has been getting blisters, even when using his masonry gloves, especially in the creavace between his thumb and index finger. He says it is due to the vibrations of the machines. Does anyone have any work gloves that can help his poor hands?

Best Answer Some gloves will lessen the chance for blisters, these have padded palms, but until his hands toughen to the task he will get blisters even with gloves, as there is still friction between his hands and glove.

Question How can i keep my baseball gloves true color?
i get custom baseball gloves from Rawlings sent to me every 6 months, but i continuously have problem; the color of the glove fades and gets lighter. the color of my glove is red and sometimes it gets lighter and it looks terrible. is there anything i can do to protect and preserve the color of my glove?
